Financial Awards
Our financial awards program — which includes scholarships, bursaries and grants — is our flagship initiative to encourage and champion MTR residents and staff to pursue their goals. The funding opportunities are as diverse as our recipients. At our awards event we celebrate the recipients of scholarships for education, bursaries for summer camps and job skills acquisition programs, and grants that fund community-building activities. These financial awards are an essential way that we help unlock new possibilities for MTR community members.
Merit Awards
Through non-monetary awards, this event also celebrates the accomplishments of residents and alumni who demonstrate leadership, resilience and who make positive contributions to their communities. Additionally, we recognize exceptional B.C. business leaders who are doing more to break cycles of homelessness and poverty in our community.
The Key Holder Awards
These awards recognize residents demonstrating attributes MTR recognizes are key to building a hopeful future including leadership, resilience and compassion. While all MTR residents are eligible for these awards, the Foundation places a special emphasis on honouring young people.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards
These awards recognize former MTR residents making a positive contribution at their place of employment, in their families or in the communities in which they choose to live.
The Heart for Home Awards
These awards recognize British Columbian business leaders working in the real estate development and home building industries who are doing more to break cycles of poverty and homelessness.
